Minimum Qualifications:

FULL-TIME / PART-TIME:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Current State of Alabama EMT Basic License or higher at time of application
  3. Current National Registry Certification, EMT Basic or higher at time of application
  4. Ability to pass a NFPA-1582 medically required physical for Firefighters and all other Cahaba Valley Fire District pre-employment requirements
  5. Possession of a valid Alabama driver’s license
  6. Ability to comply with the Cahaba Valley Fire District’s grooming standards policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Alabama Paramedic License at the time of application
Possession of a current and valid Alabama Personnel Standards Commission Firefighter I Certification*

*Any candidate certified as Firefighter I will not be eligible for employment with the Cahaba Valley Fire District until he/she has fulfilled the three-year obligation to their sponsoring department (unless self-sponsored) imposed by the rules of the Alabama Personnel Standards Commission.
